We offer the following course selections:

* NRRPT Exam Review Preparation Class - This is a full 40 hour 5-day class designed to prepare the candidate to successfully pass the NRRPT Exam. The course concentrates on the basic tools the candidate needs to successfully pass the NRRPT exam. Rules of thumb and simplified mathematics for problem solving are covered in depth. We provide our NRRPT Exam Prep software, scientific calculator, and the Gilson and Voss Handbook of Radiation Data at no additional cost.

* Basic Radiation Instrumentation - a 3-day hands-on class that gives the students a firm grounding in the understanding of basic radiation instrument theory and practice. The focus is on hand-held radiation instruments, how they work, how to best use them, interferences to be on the lookout for and operating limitations. GM, ion chamber, gas-proportional, solid-state silicon, and scintillator detectors are covered in detail.

* Advanced Radiation Instrumentation - this 3-day class presents the latest in Intelligent Instrumentation and the Networking of those instruments. Students will work with instruments from four leading radiation instrument manufacturers. Students will also setup instrument networks using both wired and wireless systems.

* Mathematics Review for Radiation Protection Professionals - this 2-day class covers the formulas, equations, and rules of thumb the radiation professional needs in their occupation. This class is geared towards the field technicians who need to brush up on their math skills.

* Radiation Protection Techniques for Emergency Responders -
this 3-day class provides the necessary techniques the emergency responder can use to protect themselves and others from radiation exposure. Techniques presented include basic stay-time estimations, dose reduction, shielding, perimeter setup, respiratory protection, and ALARA implementation.





Our instructors have an average of more than 25 years in the radiation protection field with experience in NRC, DOE, EPA, medical, military, and manufacturing facilities. Each class is led by a team of instructors who are qualified in accordance with ANSI N3.1 and NQA-1.
